What is a Viable Life?

It's every parents worst nightmare. You go to the OBGYN and your doctor tells you that something is wrong with your baby. It might be down syndrome or worse yet it could be one of the rare conditions that are not considered to be compatible with life. Some 90% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down's Syndrome are in fact aborted (even though a Down's syndrome diagnosis is not a guarantee of having a down syndrome baby, nor is it a lethal condition). A disgusting notion considering people with Down's Syndrome can functional and productive members of society.

I have to wonder if this was the joke last night…

I just discovered a new candy:

Bad joke guys, bad joke.

Seriously profound theology

Get ready:

Jesus loves me, and you.

That's the most serious theology you need — just take it from Karl Barth

When the Fat Lady Sings

Ever notice how God has a way of hitting us over the head like a brick? My husband shared a blog entry with me last night. It's a blog I read semi- regularly by a talented woman. She doesn't give herself enough credit. I'd never thought about who she physically was as a person. But her blog was about how she felt about being fat. My husband pointed out how evil it was that society would make a person feel that way. He was right. I personally found I could sympathize with everything she said.

Saying this gets you in trouble…

But Tim Troutman says it well
